Nestled between the Sierra Madre mountains and the Mexican Riviera lies Troncones, a seaside village where visitors find the easy pace and welcoming spirit of a classic Mexican hideaway.
With a population hovering around a mere 500 permanent residents, the town has magically maintained a pleasant sense of isolation. Intrepid travelers are drawn to Troncones, seeking the unspoiled and barefoot beach vibe that has diminished elsewhere along Mexico’s coast as towns here grow increasingly popular.
Travelers are drawn to Ixtapa beaches who are looking for a pleasant sense of isolation and unspoiled beaches that are scarce along the Mexican coasts. While removed from the busy resort scene, it still has enough unassuming hotels, tasty local restaurants and interesting activities to keep visitors comfortable.
DIRECTIONS TO CASA KOKOPELI
Casa Kokopeli is located in the Mexican state of Guerrero. We are 25 minutes north of Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, and 40 minutes from the International Airport (ZIH). If you are driving from the airport, follow MX 200 north, through Zihuatanejo.
Leaving Zihua, bear to the right on MX 200, following signs for Lazaro Cardenas and Morelia. After another 15 to 20 minutes of rural driving (about 25 kilometers) watch for signage for Troncones to the left.
Make the left, passing a PEMEX gas station, then a quick, well marked right onto the road to Troncones. Follow the road down to town. When you reach the ocean, and a T junction, take a right and Casa Kokopeli is about 1/2 kilometer on the left (beach side).
